Our homes should be a place for us to breathe, a place to enjoy, a place to relax, and a place where we and our family can live with ease.

We strongly believe that decluttering is not just about clearing space in your home. It’s also about freeing up the time and clearing your head space thus enabling you to feel calm, productive, peaceful, and in control. To live without constantly looking for things and have more time for you.

What a fantastic way to repurpose an IKEA Kallax unit. By taking out the shelves and fitting a rail it is now a wardrobe for your little one. You can keep nappies, pyjamas etc in the boxes underneath #declutteryourlife #declutteryourhome #organizedhome #kidsbedroom

Every minute you spend looking through clutter, wondering where you put this or that, being unable to focus because you’re not organized costs you: time you could have spent with family or friends, time you could have been productive around the house, time you could have just spent on you

MOVING HOUSE.

Moving house can be a daunting task, but with the right approach, it can become more manageable. Here are some tips and advice on how we pack for our clients to move house:

1. Start Early: Begin packing as soon as you know you're going to move. This will help reduce stress and ensure you have enough time to pack everything properly.

2. Declutter: Take the opportunity to go through your belongings and decide what you really need. Donate, sell, or discard items you no longer use or want. This will make packing and unpacking much easier.

3. Gather Packing Supplies: Make sure you have plenty of sturdy boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, and packing paper. You may also need specialty boxes for items like mirrors, artwork, or clothing.

4. Pack Room by Room: Start with one room at a time. Label each box with the room it belongs to and a brief description of its contents. This will make unpacking a breeze.

5. Pack Strategically: Place heavier items at the bottom of the boxes and lighter items on top. Fill empty spaces with packing material to prevent shifting. Consider using smaller boxes for heavy items to avoid overloading larger boxes.

6. Protect Fragile Items: Wrap breakable items such as dishes, glassware, and ornaments in bubble wrap or packing paper. Mark these boxes as "fragile" and pack them securely to prevent damage.

7. Pack Essentials Separately: Set aside a box of essentials that you will need immediately upon moving in, such as toiletries, a change of clothes, important documents, and basic kitchen items.

8. Label and Organize: Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs in. This will help you and your movers know where to place each box in your new home.

9. Take Inventory: Keep a list of all the items packed in each box. This will help you keep track of your belongings and ensure nothing gets lost during the move.

10. Secure Valuables: Pack important documents, jewelry, and other valuable items separately and keep them with you during the move rather than in the moving truck.

11. Pack Electronics with Care: If possible, use the original packaging for electronics. If not, wrap them in bubble wrap and pack them in sturdy boxes, making sure to label them as delicate.

12. Hire Professionals: If you are overwhelmed by the packing process, consider hiring professional packers who can efficiently and safely pack your belongings for you.

13. Consider the Season: If you're moving during extreme temperatures, take extra care to protect items that can be affected by heat or cold, such as electronics, candles, and certain liquids.

14. Plan for the First Night: Set aside a separate box with bedding, towels, and any items you'll need for the first night in your new home. This will save you from scrambling to find these items amidst the moving chaos.

15. Check Moving Regulations: If you're moving long distance or to a new country, be sure to check regulations regarding what can and cannot be transported, especially when it comes to hazardous materials and restricted items.

By following these tips and taking a systematic approach to packing, you can make the moving process smoother and less stressful. Good luck with your move!other and less stressful. Good luck with your move!.

What do you do with clothes worn once that aren’t dirty enough yet for the wash?

You hesitate to put them into your laundry basket because they aren’t “dirty” per se, and could be worn again before washing.

What’s great is that there are so many hook options to choose from! You can install cute wall hooks somewhere inside of your closet, bedroom, or bathroom.

Alternatively, you can opt for over-the-door hooks in any of these spaces – no need to put holes in your wall.

Hanging worn clothes from hooks requires little to no effort, allows for nice airflow through the fabrics, and makes it easy to quickly grab what you want to wear.

The Art of Organising

Organising your home can be a mammoth task, but with our expert guidance, you'll learn the art of efficient organisation. From creating storage solutions to maximizing space, our tips and advice will help you transform your living space into a clutter-free oasis.

Let's talk playrooms

Organising a child's playroom can seem like a daunting task, but with a little planning and creativity, we can create a fun and functional space that will inspire hours of imaginative play.

We start by decluttering the room and getting rid of any toys that are broken or no longer played with. We sort the remaining toys into categories, such as building blocks, stuffed animals, art supplies, and games. Consider investing in storage bins, shelves, and containers to help keep everything organized and easily accessible. We love the Kallax units from IKEA.

Labelling bins and shelves with words or pictures can help young children learn where items belong and encourage them to clean up after themselves. We make use of vertical space by hanging hooks for dress-up clothes or creating a gallery wall for your child's artwork.

We create designated play areas within the room, such as a cosy reading nook, a building area for blocks and Lego, and a table for arts and crafts while making sure we leave plenty of floor space for active play and movement.

The Autistic Child

Every child with autism is unique, and what works for one child may not work for another. We are open to adapting our approach based on your child's individual needs and preferences. Above all, we approach the decluttering and organising process with patience, understanding, and a focus on creating a supportive and sensory-friendly environment for your child.

Disabilities

We regularly help client's who , because they struggle with health issues and disabilities are unable to sort through things and then are overwhelmed.

Yesterday we tackled a spare room where this had happened. Our client was able to sit comfortably in her living room while we sorted everything. We had already met and decided what needed keeping ( music and instruments, all photos and albums) . What could be boxed to sort through at their own pace in the evenings (paperwork)

Then we gave her one bag at a time to look at and decide whether to keep or donate.

The cardboard boxes we didn't use were broken down for recycling. All medical supplies that were no longer needed were dropped off at the Ukraine collection point as were some clothes. We took donations for charity to Cancer Research. We never charge for dropping of charity donations .

How clutter effects us

With our busy, modern nonstop lives it is so easy for "the stuff’ in our homes to become overwhelming. Clutter is an emotional weight as much as it is a physical one. It preys on our minds, makes life chaotic and we just don't have the time to get on top of it.

Storage units

One of the easiest things to happen in family life is that the kid's books, toys etc start to take over and migrate from the playroom into the sitting room.
We recommended that our client buy a Kallax unit. These are ideal for storing toys, games, puzzles and so on. We were able to use the cupboard for art and craft activities which we sorted and put away first. We then put together the cubes for the unit and designated items for each. Toy cars, soft toys, Duplo, puzzles, games plus two cubes for each child. Working in both rooms at once meant we could work more efficiently. We finished by sorting the bookshelf. Hospice in the Weald charity shop benefitted from six large bags of good quality toys, books and games which is always a good feeling at the end of the day
